Just a reminder that Come and Take it is "just around the corner".
Basically things will  occur as they have in the past.

COTLHA and the Pioneer Village is sponsoring this event.  COTLHA safety
rules and event protocols are in effect.

I will get there sometime Friday afternoon (Oct. 1) but you are welcome to
arrive and set camp any time you wish.  If you wish to come in before
Friday, please check with the Village staff.  Please be reminded that we
have our own Camp Life activities Friday evening.

The Mexican Camp will be in the area behind the Church where it has been
located the last two years.  The Texian Camp will be scattered around the
buildings surrounding the open compound where the battle reenactment will
take place.  (Be reminded that there are electrical outlets scattered around
the compound so electric fans are a must if it is still hot that weekend.
But also be prepared for one of the Fall's first "Blue Northers" to blow
thru!)

On Saturday (Oct 2), you can participate in the parade which occurs downtown
around 9 or 10.  I am trying to secure a flat bed trailer and hay bales but
you can walk if you so wish.

The arguments between the Centralists and Federalists will commence at about
3:00 that afternoon with the battle to follow.

After the Village closes at 5:00 PM you are free to leave but be reminded
that that dinner for the re-enactors will be served. (I asked for chicken
and dumplings again since that is the traditional serving--although Sandra
has retired and some one else will probably be cooking.)  And, again on
Saturday evening after dinner, our own re-enactor camp activities will
probably occur.

If you stay over Saturday night please try to be packed and out of the
Village when it opens on Sunday at 9:00 AM
