Purposes of CROSSROADS
The purposes of the Crossroads of Texas Living History Association (COTLHA):
q To promote a better understanding by the public of our country’s history.
o Through historical recreations and living history events, COTLHA hopes to bring to light the lived experiences of the people who settled and populated Texas during the 19th century.
q To authentically recreate America’s civil and military past.
o This means presenting a balanced and human impression for all participants in the events that built Texas.

To encourage research
on topics of historical interest.
o
By doing historical
reenactments, COTLHA hopes to inspire visitors to our programs to take another
look at the history of Texas by reading and visiting historic sites throughout
the state and sharing their new knowledge with others.
